I keep track of the traffic for my various blogs and websites using Google Analytics. Ever since I blogged about Ethan’s last illness, I have had a steady increase in traffic for people searching for pictures of the rash spawned by that particular virus he had. The one that starts with a rose and ends with an ola. If you search for “pictures of (insert name of illness here)” we are on the top freaking page of the results. It bothers me… I really don’t know why it bothers me so much. I guess I get excited about seeing all the traffic, then I realize its all from Turkey and South Africa, and then I realize its all search engine traffic. I suppose I shouldn’t be bothered. Its not like they are searching for something naughty and ending up here. I could probably do the world a favor and actually post some pictures of what he looked like with that rash. They are probably disappointed when they arrive and they don’t find what they are looking for.

Here’s an experiment I suppose…. I am going to post a few pictures of Ethan’s ROSEOLA RASH and see how much it drives up my blog traffic. We are already on the top page in google if you search for “pictures of roseola” so let’s just see what this will do. I will probably delete this entry and the other one after a few days.

Here goes nothing… A few pictures of Ethan with his roseola rash.

Happy Father's Day

June 16, 2008

Well, this post is a little late, but we were really busy this weekend. Busy swimming and hanging out at grandma and grandpa’s house. Here are a few images of the guys in the pool on Saturday. I love the way these turned out so much, I am putting them on my photo blog also.

In the second to last picture, you see Ethan chewing on his new best friend “Mr. Green Fish”. Of all the different colored fish in his new bath toy set, he loved Mr. Green Fish the most. He spent most of the weekend showing Mr. Green Fish his new tooth.

Yes, Ethan has a third tooth and he’s working on a fourth. The third tooth is working its way through his top gums. The fourth tooth isn’t through yet, but his gums are very swollen and sensitive. He was miserable today. Poor little guy wimpered most of the day.

Ethan is also learning to crawl. He can army crawl pretty well, but this weekend he started getting up on all fours with his belly off the ground. He really got the hang of it this evening and that is all he wanted to do. He’s starting to scare me with his pending mobility.

Speaking of mobility and back to the subject of Father’s Day…. Aaron got an early Father’s Day gift last Thursday. He bought a motorcycle for his commuter vehicle. It certainly is pretty. Here’s a quick snapshot. I would really like to take some better pictures of it while its all nice and shiny.

Swimming

Here are some pictures from Ethan’s first swim in the pool here in Jackson. All of these are from yesterday. I have pictures from today, but I haven’t edited them yet.

Ethan visits Uncle Matt

June 14, 2008

We are in Jackson this weekend visiting Grandma and Grandpa Head. Uncle Matt had to work all weekend, so we took Ethan to visit him at the fire station. Uncle Matt let Ethan hang out in the fire truck for a little while.

First trip to the beach

June 10, 2008

We had our second annual Stockstill women Gulf Shores trip this weekend, and it was Ethan’s first trip to the beach. On Sunday morning Mom, Victoria, Allie, Ethan, and I headed out to the Perdido Beach Resort in Gulf Shores. We checked in to our room, then hit the beach.

Ethan was not very impressed with the waves, but he liked the sand on his feet. I don’t know why he didn’t like the water because he LOVES the pool. He cried when the ocean water ran over his feet.

Ethan and I hung out under the umbrella with Mom while Victoria and Allie played in the water.

I nursed him and he napped for a while on the sheet.

Then he sat on the beach chairs with us for a while.

When the sun started to crowd us out, we decided to go to the pool instead. He enjoyed the pool MUCH more than the beach. He floated around the pool in his little baby floaty till he got hungry and sleepy. He nursed and fell asleep again, so we laid on the lounge chair by the pool and enjoyed our vacation.

That night we went to the Pink Pony Pub for dinner. Apparently, there is not any free public parking in Gulf Shores. If you go to the public lot, you have to pay $5. That applies to everyone except Ethan. The parking lady gave us free parking because he was so cute. Ethan really enjoyed himself at the Pink Pony. We sat outside to listen to the guy playing music. He had a harmonica and a guitar and was taking requests from the crowd, so he played quite a variety. Ethan sat in his high chair and turned himself sideways to watch the guy play.

The next morning, we went out to the beach for a few minutes to enjoy the morning and to get some more pictures.

Here’s a view of the resort from the beach

After our morning excursion, Ethan was very sleepy again

He took a nap when we got back to the room, then we went to breakfast. After breakfast, Victoria and Allie wanted to nap, but Ethan had other plans for them.

After he successfully roused his aunts, we checked out of the hotel and shopped for the rest of the day! It was a nice getaway, and we all had a really good time.

Enjoying the sun

We sat outside Wednesday evening and watched the guy spray our lawn with hydroseed. I have yet to take a picture of the finished lawn, but I will once the grass starts growing in.

Bouncing baby

June 5, 2008

Ethan is a wild man in his bouncy chair these days. I need to post some videos to really illustrate his craziness, but in the mean time, this picture will do.

Notice that both of his feet are off the ground and that he is swinging in the air:

Ethan Resembles….

June 4, 2008

I really think Ethan looks more like Aaron, so the result of this little thing surprised me. I did it a second time with different pictures…..

And well, I was really surprised again…. I think I need to find different pictures. I am going to try and dig up different pictures of Aaron and see how the results turn out.

quick picture break

I’ve been working like a crazy person lately, so I figured I would take a quick break to share some pictures.

Enjoy!

52 weeks – Week 12

June 2, 2008

I’ve been really slacking on the 52 Weeks photo project.

I took these tonight in the bedroom mirror. They are grainy because they are quite underexposed. I shot at ISO 6400 on the D300 and the only light was the overhead “mood lighting” setting on the ceiling fan.
